Photo essay – Cape Wrath Trail

Walking away from Ben Stack on the Cape Wrath Trail

I’ve added a new photo essay to the website documenting images from the Cape Wrath Trail, a 200 mile walk in Scotland from Fort William to Cape Wrath.

The photos are from two trips on the trail (most folk do it in one go). They cover the route from Ullapool to Cape Wrath, which unfortunately took me two attempts as I got sick the first time near Glencoul bothy. I’ve also added in a few photos from Kearvaig Bay and bothy, where two of us spent a stormy last night before getting the small boat ferry across to Durness and heading for home.

I’ve walked more of the Cape Wrath Trail than in the pictures (read ‘A six day walk amongst Scottish mountains – Glen Shiel to Glenfinnan‘) but I only had a mobile phone camera with that time. I’m going to have to go back and do it again, from Fort William, to get some share-able pictures. What a shame! The plan is to complete the trail first though. I’ll be walking from Glen Shiel to Ullapool later in 2012.
